As we commemorate World AIDS Day, and with twenty four months left to 2015, a year by which most countries are expected to meet Millennium Development Goal. Are these goals achievable in South Sudan? Hope Ofiriha is especially interested in goal 4; to reduce child mortality, goal 5; to improve maternal health and goal 6; to combat HIV/AIDS.
We now know that these goals will not be met by the deadline, and we have no idea when, if ever, these goals will be achieved. Is not likely South Sudan will achieve these Goals alone, but this call for a determined joint efforts from international partners.
According to Dr. Riek Gai Kok, the welfare of mothers and their babies are top priorities, and cannot be addressed by the health sector alone it requires all stakeholders to play their role.
