Community fundraising is a great way to support Hope Ofiriha’s life-changing work. Thanks to our many donation options—such as your community’s own Hope Ofiriha Ammado fundraiser page, GlobalGiving gift registery or fundraiser page, or GlobalGiving UK gift registery, fundraiser page, or giving group—fundraising is easy (no cash or checks to chase), safe (the money is sent securely to Hope Ofiriha), and donations are tax deductable in the United Kingdom and United States.
Some of the many ways your school, club, group, place of worship, or team can raise money for Hope Ofiriha include:
- Put on a fundraising and awareness event: Fundraisers that increases awareness of the plight of South Sudanese women and children can be powerful—for you and us.
— Hold a walk-a-thon or camp out to highlight the suffering of South Sudanese refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Ask friends and family to contribute by the mile or hour.
— Organize a used book drive/sale to raise awareness about the overwhelming need for schools in South Sudan.
— Sponsor a fingerprint-a-thon (using kits from an organizations such as YourSafe Child) bringing attention to the plight of South Sudanese children separated from their families during the civil war.
— Sponsor a detox-a-thon highlighting the fact that one out of two children in South Sudan suffers from malnutrition. Ask friends and family to sponsor you by the day to give up candy, sodas, chips, etc.
— Use your imagination to come up with your own event
- Put on a party: Parties are an easy, informal way to support Hope Ofiriha. You can raise money while doing something fun that fits your community lifestyle—a formal dinner party, dance party, cocktail party, winetasting, potluck, masquerade ball, pancake breakfast, morning or afternoon tea, picnic, barbeque, etc. Hold the party in your home, a park or garden, restaurant, place of workship, or other location appropriate for your community.
- Set up a gift registry: Global Giving makes it easy to set up a Hope Ofiriha gift registry. Whether you’re getting married, having a kid, or turning a year older, people can donate to Hope Ofiriha on your behalf.
- Collect money in your neighborhood: House-to-house collections are another easy way to raise money for Hope Ofiriha.
