Our New Microloan Partner: Deki

Hope Ofiriha announces the new partnership with Deki to provide loan to underserved areas of southern Sudan and Uganda. Hope Ofiriha is first Deki’s partner in East Africa, and has approximately 1016 clients, serves marginalized women earning less than $ 1 a day, and is committed to commercially scaling its operations and its reaches.

We are thrilled to collaborate with Deki as our second MFI partner to anchor our expansion into Southern Sudan and Uganda, said Alice Amwony, program coordinator. Hope Ofiriha, under the entrepreneurial leadership of William Ochieng, is successfully serving low-income South Sudanese refugee families in the outskirt of Kampala with branches in deep rural areas of northern Uganda, and Southern Sudan, low loan sizes, and innovative products and services that not only appeal to this population but increase their borrowing success if they open personal account with  Equity bank in two countries. We look forward to expanding our operations and achieve rapid sustainable growth.

About Deki:
We empower people living in poverty to create sustainable livelihoods by providing access to ethical microloans and training.

Almost half the world lives on less than $2.50 a day. Yet these are honest, hardworking people motivated by the same things as most of us: they want to make something of their lives, feed their families and send their children to school. With the capital to start a business these people can turn their lives around. Together we can empower them to work their way out of poverty.

With Deki you can have a direct impact on people’s lives by lending anything from £10 to your chosen entrepreneur in the developing world.
