Charity Helping South Sudanese Women & Children Rebuilt Their Lives
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Location: Bulonde, Wakiso District, Uganda
Diana lives in extreme poverty in Bulonde slum, an outskirt of Kampala, Uganda. South Sudan’s long civil war left Diana’s indirectly a partial orphan and her and her family refugees since they fled from Liria, their home Village. The conflict crippled her dad’s fatherhood to support his family when she was 8 and her mother suffers from the mental disorder. So she sent Diana to live with her aunt.
Diana’s aunt cannot afford to pay the school fees for all of their own children still living at home let alone Diana, and her siblings. As an educated refugee, her aunt is barely able to put food on the table working on and off doing odd jobs. Her income is frequently not enough to cover other necessities, such as house rent, medical care, and clothes. Diana’s aunt cannot either help because doesn’t have a decent job and is living hand to mouth in exile.
Diana is a good student who loves science. She has been educated up to Uganda’s standard 6 (six years of primary education). She needs your assistance, so she can go to boarding school to escape a lifetime cycle of poverty and achieve her dream of becoming an airplane engineer. She lost her studies last year and will fall behind if she doesn’t return to school soon. Your monthly support will pay her school fees, provide her with food, clothes, and medical care; and prevent her from having to work petty jobs during school hours to help support her family.
By sponsoring a refugee child, you will join more than 3000 donors who believe children should be released from poverty in Education. Start your sponsorship story today by sending this child to school now!
